For those parents new to the middle school scene, middle school dances are essentially a school social. We try to discourage the kids from asking “dates” or pairing off for these events, and no formal dress is ever required, though the Student Council will sometimes pick an optional fun theme and announce it to their classmates at school. We just want the kids to relax and have fun together!
Middle School Spring Dance - Friday, April 3
When: Friday, April 3 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm
Where: MB Campus (cafeteria and gym)
Cost: Option 1 - ticket and food with a beverage $12.00. Option 2 - ticket only (food and drinks can be purchased separately) $8.00
Our Middle School Spring Dance is right around the corner! This year’s theme is western and, as always, outfits must follow dress of choice guidelines. Cowboy boots are allowed.
We are selling tickets online through the school store and at the door. We highly encourage purchasing tickets ahead of time online.
Expectations: All school rules and expectations still apply. Dresses, skirts, shorts, and rompers must be mid-thigh in length, and strapless dresses and spaghetti straps are not allowed. Pajamas and costumes are not permitted. Chunky heels and wedges are permitted for school dances; however, stiletto-style heels are not allowed as they damage our gym floor. Please ensure your child can move and dance comfortably and confidently in their attire.
We also want to ensure students have a safe environment, so cell phones must be checked at the Phone Stations before entering the gym (the dance floor). Students may retrieve their phones to call/text parents and snap photos with their friends at the photo station, which an adult will monitor.
Additionally, only current Motsenbocker Middle School students are allowed to attend. Students may not exit the building during the dance as teachers do not monitor the school's exterior during the dance.
Any student engaging in unsafe behavior will be asked to call home, and a parent must pick them up. We want this evening to be a fun, safe, memorable experience for everyone.
Drop off and Pick Up: Parents are not permitted to enter the building as this is a student-only event. We ask that you drop your student off at the curb, similar to carpool. After the dance, students must be picked up along the curb or in the parking lot. Walking into a surrounding neighborhood is not allowed for safety reasons. If your student will be riding with a friend, please ensure your student knows ahead of time. All students must be picked up by 7:40 pm. Our teachers have had a long day of teaching and chaperoning a dance and would like to get home to their families.
