Grade 4 News

The students have been working so hard in all their classes and we are so proud of them! They have become wonderful, responsible, adaptive learners! ☺

Spring Conferences

*Please note Ms. Martinez’s has different availability!

Spring conferences will be held with your child’s homeroom teacher! The official days of Spring Conferences are May 8th and 9th. These conferences are going to be held in person.

These conferences will be different, they will be student led. Your kiddo is the star and they are going to present to you their portfolio they will be creating here in class! Each student will use your conference time to share with you their presentation worked on in class. Their presentation will be a reflection on the year, things they are proud of, things they think they need to work on, things they think they are good at – bottom line THEIR thoughts and reflections for the year. There will be three families at a time and us teachers will be walking around to help and guide – but this is all about your kiddo and we are more there to listen and guide only if necessary! The kiddos are going to be working hard in class to prepare, so the more you support the better for the kiddos 😊.

Please sign up below for the time that works best for you. These are 15 minutes long with three families at a time so please be on time since they run back to back. We look forward to you coming in and seeing your child’s progress and how proud they are to show off their hard work and their reflections for the year!

End of  Year Testing Window

Our end of the year testing is already fast approaching! It will be from April 29th - May 17th. During this time we have many different tests we need to do to make sure our students are correctly placed for next year! Here are 4th grades tentative testing dates for these tests:

Literacy iReady: April 29/30

Math iReady: May 1/2

Writing Benchmark: Start on April 17th

Math Waggle: Week of May 6th

Math Final: Week of May 13th

This will allow us time at the end of the window to get any absent or sick kiddos caught up or extra time for the ones who did not finish in these days!

*Please know if your child is gone for an extended absence and it starts/ends during this testing window they will have to finish ALL testing before leaving for their extended absence!
