Food Drive

6th Annual Food Drive benefiting the Parker Task Force

The AAPTO-MB Outreach committee will be collecting nonperishable donations on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, November 14th- 16th. Volunteers will be on hand to collect your donations during morning carpool. The Parker Task Force (www.parkertaskforce.org) is located in our local community and assists more than 3,000 clients from the Parker, Franktown and Elizabeth areas, an increase of 12% over last year. As part of its backpack program, the Task Force also supplies child-friendly foods to students in need to provide a little additional assistance over a weekend or school break.  The Task Force is on target to provide almost 7,200 weekend food packs for students this year.

Parent volunteers will be needed to assist with collection during the food drive.  Please follow this link if you are able to help with collection or delivery:  SIGN UP GENIUS

Last year, through the generosity of our AA students and families, we collected more than 2,500 nonperishable items during the food drive. We would love to double our donations this year and the Task Force can certainly use our help!  Students will be competing to collect the most nonperishable goods. Winners in grades KP-5 will receive a Sky Zone pass for each person in the winning grades and the Middle School winner will win a Boondocks pass (round of laser tag or miniature golf)! There will be THREE winning grades:  ONE (1) Winner - Middle School 6th-8th grades and TWO (2) Winners - KindiePrep-5th grades.  A form will be coming home with your student that includes a list of needs for the Parker Task Force for November.  Thank you for your generosity! Teaching our children to give is an invaluable lesson.

Giving Tree

Giving Tree and Holiday Fund

The annual Staff Holiday Fund and Giving Tree will begin Monday, November 26, 2018. This is a great way to recognize the wonderful teachers and staff at our Motsenbocker campus.   A form will be sent home with your student that will assist you in making your contribution.  If you are interested in participating, please complete the form indicating the amount of money you would like to contribute next to each individual's name or for the Giving Tree.  Return the form and money in a sealed envelope with "Holiday Fund c/o Outreach VP" written on the envelope.  Please send CASH ONLY!  If a check is sent in, it will be returned to you in order for us to remain compliant with the Douglas County Education Fund (our governing accounting body). Donations should be left with the MB campus front office staff.  Giving Tree contributions will be distributed in December to AA-MB families who may need a little "extra" during the holiday season (gifts will be made anonymously).

Gifts will be distributed to staff during the December appreciation luncheon on December 19, 2018.  Staff will not be told the amount of your gift, but your family name will be shared with them.   Please note that this program is VOLUNTARY, but very much appreciated by our staff.  The deadline for turning in the form and money is Monday, December 10, 2018.   If you have any questions about this program, please direct them to outreach.mb@aak8.org
